With the goal of supporting local jobs and growth in the Northern Territory across broad industry sectors and providing expert skills to the start-up ecosystem the Darwin Innovation Hub (DIH) has now successfully shifted into the next phase of operations from itself being a start-up within the Northern Territory, to a position which has allowed the DIH to provide greater Territory coverage and support services to the NT innovation ecosystem, by the employment of a full-time Expert in Residence and a part time specialist.
As of the 10th December 2019 the DIH has been awarded a Federal grant through the Entrepreneurs Program to employ a full time Northern Territory based EIR in Ms Emma Nesbitt. In addition the DIH has elected to engage a part time specialist in Mr Geoff Thomas who will also work as an assessor for the Business Innovation Program taking over from Dr Dean Alle.
During the first 2 years establishing the Darwin Innovation Hub the DIH and NTG would like to acknowledge the contribution that Dr Dean Alle has made as the entrepreneur in residence as part of the Federal Incubator Support Program and the Innovator-in-Residence (IiR) consultancy service for the NTG’s business innovation programs. In particular, we would like to acknowledge his work undertaking an opportunities audit at Charles Darwin University and his support of the start-up ecosystem in the Northern Territory.
The Northern Territory Government and Darwin Innovation Hub look forward to the next phase of outcomes that will arise from the Business Innovation Program.
